Pharmacodynamics: Colistin is a polypeptide antibiotics which use its cation surfactant interface to interact with bacterial cell membrane’s lipid bilayer. Colistin is not sensitive to Gram-positive bacteria. The drug has cross tolerance with polymyxin B but not to other drugs.
